Pinterest Rolls Out Analytics Dashboard

13 Mar

Marketers on Pinterest, rejoice! The quickly growing content-sharing site has started rolling out a web analytics dashboard. This dashboard shows how many views a pin has, how much website traffic is generated directly from Pinterest, and how many have pinned from a website. It is available free to companies with a verified website.

This is great news for businesses with a web presence on Pinterest. Today, online marketing is driven by data, and Pinterest is stepping up to the plate to offer its users just that. These analytics will be modest at first, but there’s little doubt Pinterest will roll out more robust data aggregating features in the coming months. According to socialtimes.com, Pinterest accounts for 10% of social e-commerce visits. Mashable states that daily Pinterest users have increased by more than 145 percent since the beginning of 2012. That’s no small feat for this relatively new social site.

Retail clothing and companies marketing more “visual content” seem to have a definite advantage in the world of Pinterest. But sharable content in a visual format can be created by any company, no matter what you’re marketing. Stay tuned for my follow-up post about how the everyday Joe can create visually appealing content that will drive website traffic, and increase consumer engagement.

Head over to SlideShare to view a presentation that Bianca and I gave to several local nonprofits in the Denver, Colorado area on how to develop a SWOT analysis and integrate it into your overall marketing plan.

Denver Gives Marketing Presentation

Oh, hey there!

4 May

Why, hello!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Caitlyn Major and I am a Colorado native (mostly), currently living in Denver. Words cannot express how much I love Colorado and it’s mountains. I also love to travel and experience new things. The world is such a big, beautiful place and when I have an opportunity to see something I haven’t seen or experience something I’ve never experienced, I usually take it. You only live once.

<side note>I’ll spare you from the YOLO reference… this time</end side note>

I love and excel at all things marketing, especially within the digital space. It excites me to see new trends emerging and more and more people engaging via the social web. People are more connected digitally then ever before, and it provides endless possibilities. What an amazing time to work in this field!

My specialty is social media. I just LOVE social media and it’s ability to connect people with people, people with businesses, and businesses with businesses! It’s the circle of life, my friends. And it’s a beautiful thing.

The purpose of me starting this blog is to connect with like-minded people, learn some new stuff, and perhaps start freelancing! I have volunteered my expertise before to many worthy nonprofits, and currently serve on the board of Denver Gives. I also work full time in the PR department for a CPA association in Colorado and am enjoying every minute of it.

I love answering questions and helping people out with their marketing strategy so if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a line at caitlyn.g.major@gmail.com

That being said, THANK YOU for reading my very first post EVER and I look forward to sharing new things I’m learning within the field of marketing and a few personal snippets of my life (only share-worthy, I promise).

Caitlyn
